Brunch heaven

I ordered the Breakfast Greens without the egg because I just haven’t been wanting egg recently.

It’s Friday, Friday! Good morning my dears! Hope you’ve had a great start to your day. After my little gym break yesterday I was very happy to be back for a morning class at G5 this morning. There were lots of thrusters, burpees and jumping pull ups/ chest to bars involved. I was struggling with the thrusters but thank goodness I had my partner Gemma to push me to keep going. That’s why I love that we work so much in pairs. It makes all the difference when you’re struggling, having someone there to support and push you.

My arms were incredibly tired from lots of cleans and jerks on Wednesday so that’s probably why I found it a bit more difficult than usual. My chest to bars were feeling better but I still have a long way to go until I can properly do one. It’s so incredibly frustrating but you just got to stay positive and be happy with the small gradual improvements along the way and don’t lose hope. That’s the one thing you can’t do, stop trying, because you’ll never get better. Although, I know it’s easier said than done. We just need to remember we’re all in the same boat and fighting our battles in the gym no matter your fitness level!

A while ago after a fun Sunday gym session with Faye we headed over for brunch in Shawlands because what is life if you don’t have brunch after a Sunday lifting session? Brunch IS life. I’ve been drooling over Potluck’s Instagram images for months and been dying to go so now it was FINALLY time to try it out. I absolutely love the colourful bright yellow exterior they have that really pops when you’re walking down the street. It’s quite small inside (about the same size as Papercup I would say) and we were very lucky to immediately get a table despite it being a Sunday. I think we got just before the mad rush because after we arrived the flow of people wouldn’t stop!

Everything on the menu looked amazing but in the end I ordered the Breakfast Greens but without the egg because I wasn’t really feeling it. I sort of regretted not getting the hot cakes but Faye and I got some for Kate who was working at lulu and then got to try some later on when we gave them to her, they were magical. So next time I need some of those hot cakes. My Breakfast Greens was beautiful, I only wished it was sourdough and not granary bread (just a personal preference) but all in all, the dish tasted amazing. I was starving so next time I would probably ask for extra of everything just to fill up, or share pancakes with someone on the side as well hehe.

I’m so jealous of everyone in the Southside who lives close to this amazing place. I’m desperate to go back and bring Jamie. We’ll need to plan in a visit soon.

Now time for a day of work in voomfit HQ!

Speak soon lovelies, M xxx
