Let’s give this another try

Heeellooo my dears! I have awakened from my long blog sleep. I have felt zero reason to write here and I decided to let go of the blog entirely. I felt for so long that I was forcing out content I wasn’t excited to write about. I had to turn my brain inside out to wring out something decent to say and every word felt like an effort. Eventually I admitted defeat and thought, if you love something you should let it go and see if it comes back. This day I woke up from a horrible night’s sleep, sleep has not been my forte this week, and felt a strong need to open up this page again and write. It was the first time in a very long while I have even opened up WordPress. At times I will admit I completely forgot about this blog but I think it was the right thing to do to have this break and we’ll see if this is a long term thing me writing here or not. I don’t want to feel pressure or that I have to do it but that I want to.

Anyway, it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster ride the past couple of months. Lots of things happening that I don’t really want to get into but it finally seems to calming down a bit which is a relief! Whilst it may seem from my Instagram pics like it’s been smooth sailing, they only show a millisecond of a moment in time and anything you want to show can be captured. Of course this is most likely going to be of the easy happy moments rather than the more trialling and stressful ones. I’m all for being open and vulnerable but I’m not one to spill my guts and bare my soul online either because you never know who reads it, which I’m sure you guys understand.

I was thinking about what I’d be sharing with you guys now when I’m trying to get back into things and I’d love to share my first Aussie summer in some of the upcoming posts. It was the best summer ever I think. Travel to Byron Bay with Mich and Em, beach days in Melbourne, lots of training, food, nights out, a festival, a concert, friends and just enjoying the crazy hot weather. It was pretty much everything I could’ve wished for. I look at my friends and just think, wow you’ve lived like this your entire life. Like this has always been their lives and that’s pretty incredible. A lot of them have never lived anywhere else than Melbourne and why would they? This place is amazing and I can’t explain how special it is.

Summer is now coming to an end now and autumn has slowly come creeping with darker and colder days. However, next week it’s going to be 29 degrees again after it being about 14 on and off recently. One day I’m on the beach in my bikini, the next I’m in my winter jacket with my beanie on. Glasgow’s weather has got nothing on Melbourne weather I think. I still can’t get my head around it.

Alrighty my friends, I think I’ll leave it here right now. Today is Saturday. It’s around 7.40am now when I post this. I’ve been awake since 5.05am. Don’t ask me why, I have no clue! I’m about to get on my bike and cycle down to the gym for class and then the plan is to go to the Farmer’s market in Elwood to see what nice veggies I can get. Then we have some house viewings, yes Mim and I are looking into moving again haha. As if we haven’t had enough of that already! We want cheaper rent and live a bit closer to our friends basically so we’re right now looking at places with some people from the gym. Then this evening I’m going to my first Aussie 21st! It’s the lovely Tala’s birthday and I’m excited to see what an Aussie 21st is like. You always experience something new living abroad. Mim thought it was quite funny when I told her how excited I was but I find it so interesting and fun.

Now it’s almost time to get my things together. Speak to you soon my dears. It’s nice to be back. I have missed talking to you!

Madeleine Moves is a blog celebrating a love of exercise, food, travelling and life. I love being active, exercising and being out and about. With my blog I hope to spread this joy and inspire you to be your best. Who am I? I’m Madeleine (surprise). I’m a Swede who lives in the vibrant city of Glasgow in Scotland. I moved here for my university studies and in summer 2016 I graduated with a degree in Business and Management at University of Glasgow. My keyword has always been balance. I love eating healthy food but I also love to indulge once in a while. You need to enjoy life at the end of the day and limiting yourself is not the way to go.
